Coworking Week!

A gentle way to start the year with focus and momentum

Would you like to come to work or practice with us next week?

We’re hosting a coworking week – five days of focused, shared work/practice time for just $40.

What is coworking? Sometimes referred to as body doubling, coworking is when we all get together and work on our individual projects in real-time.

Every day next week (from January 12th to the 16th) we’ll open up Zoom for three daily work sessions, where we check in, set intentions, and get things done. It’s a simple structure that creates gentle and fun accountability and makes space for you to move your important tasks forward.

If you thrive while body doubling, time boxing, working in bursts, setting intentions, and having some public accountability (or have never tried these techniques before), we think you’ll really enjoy this.

So if you’d like to start off the new year with some new practice habits, clear some of those pesky lingering tasks off of your to-do list, or overcome post-holiday inertia, we hope you’ll join us.

How can you use the sessions?

There are a bunch of different things you can do with these coworking sessions:

Focus on one project for the week

Some folks use the sessions as a focused window to make progress on one meaningful project or goal for the week. Maybe this would mean dedicating time to score study/analysis/memorization, or prioritizing technique/scales/etudes, or daily recording and listening back, or trying some new practice strategies, or working on some new skills like composition or improvisation. Maybe it means working on some lesson plans, digitizing your notes about your students, revamping your website, batching content for your blog or social media channels, or finally starting that project that you've been putting off forever. With up to 15 sessions to drop into, it’s a chance to give one important thing the attention it needs.

Tackle your to-do list

Others arrive with no single “big” project, just each day’s to-do list. Like, emails to send, forms to fill out, laundry to fold. They show up, get a little accountability, and work through whatever is on their plate inside a pre-boxed amount of time. The structure helps them actually finish instead of letting those tasks drift. Leaving more time for practicing or other fun stuff during the rest of the day.

Follow the daily themes

We will also have an optional theme for each day of the week. So if you’re feeling stuck or not sure where to start, these themes can give you direction. They’re especially helpful if you’ve been on a mental/physical break over the holidays, and could use a little nudge to get things going again.

Self-care time

Not every coworking session needs to be devoted to work or practice. Maybe what you really need at that moment is a proper shower, or permission and space to work on a personal project or craft, go for an awe walk, or read a book purely for fun. Or, you can use the “I have a class with Noa and Chris” excuse to shut the door and have uninterrupted time to yourself.

Times and dates

From Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16, we’ll host one-hour coworking sessions at these times:

You do not have to attend all sessions! Come for one, come for some…the idea is to do what works for you!

Get off to a great start in 2026!

Before the week begins, you’ll receive a Get Started Guide – your resource for how to get the most out of the coworking sessions. It will cover what to do, what to prepare, how to choose your focus, and what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

That’s ok! Heck, even we will be tag teaming these sessions. As in, you’ll see at least one of us at each session – Chris at some, and Noa at others – but we won’t both be at every single one.

Likewise, you can show up when it works for your schedule. Even one good session can help you build momentum.

Nope! You could be zooming in from your practice room of course, but also the office, a park, laundry room, the gym, whatever works.

Of course! You could use it to do things that you’ve been putting off. Like laundry, or looking up some new vegan recipes for your rotation, or to have some tea and reflect on the day. Or maybe to catch up on a podcast episode you’ve had in your queue forever, or to use for batching your daily worry time (don’t worry of this sounds new and backwards – it’ll be one of the daily themes and I’ll provide more details 😁).

They’re pretty straightforward and go by quick!

We meet at the hour mark. We chat for five minutes, and everybody declares what they’re going to do.

Then it’s time to hunker down and go to work!

50 minutes later, we come back and log our wins, share what worked and what didn’t, and celebrate our triumphs for five minutes.

And then you’re on with your day at the top of the hour.

Nope. Drop in whenever you like.

Nope. You’re more than welcome to just show up and be a silent participant!

It’s a strategy commonly used in the ADHD world – but it often works really well for folks without ADHD as well. Sometimes you’ll get a lot done. Sometimes just a little. But more often than not, we get more done, and have more fun, than we would have by ourselves.

No problem. Just email me, and I’ll do my best to answer them!

There's an LIVE component too! (for educators)

If you’d like to explore some of the most essential skills and techniques in the course live, with a cohort of curious, thoughtful, supportive, and like-minded educators (and a few mildly irreverent or benevolently sarcastic folks mixed in to make sure we don’t get too serious), that’s also an option!

Starting Thursday, February 3rd, we’ll meet via Zoom once a week, and go through selected strategies related to effective practice, managing nerves, and achieving flow states under pressure. We’ll do some in-class playing experiments (don’t worry – you’ll be muted!), short weekly homework assignments, and small-group breakout sessions to help you integrate these new skills into your teaching.

This 6-week live course is normally $199, but is available at 50% off the regular cost when bundled with Beyond Practicing. For more details about the live course (and dates) CLICK HERE.
